This concert with the Gondwana Voices was one of the highlights of the year so far. Hearing that collection of young people sing reminded me of an essential joy in music. I’ve been working on new solo music that’s quite orchestral and this concert was a chance to preview it in a different context. The project is in progress, and will come out sometime next year after The Cat Empire’s new release. Here is a version of one of those songs arranged for mass choir. I’m playing piano, and Ollie McGill, who had a large part in the arrangements for this concert is playing organ. Given the room and the live recording the drums are a bit loud, but it gets there.
